A good rockin' weekend

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Just a quick message to say to the customers of the Grand Old Oprey, the Central Bar and the Oceana, thank you a million times over for your hospitality this weekend.

Friday was a blast, the band thoroughly enjoyed rockin' that stage. As for the Central, the special Leith Festival gig was a first for me and the audience really showed that the Leith folk know how to party. As ever in the Oceana today, I had an absolute blast, Jackie, Leanne and the girls, big Andrew and family, your dance moves get better every time I'm through in Ferry Road. I love it.

So seriously folks, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making the venues to amazing to play.

What the hell am I going to do tomorrow when I'm back in the day job! I'll be as high as a kite, wishing I had the guitar in my hands.

Hope all's well with every visitor to the site. If you fancy a good rockin' night next weekend, I'm in Stirling on Friday and the Waverley in Wishaw on Saturday.

Keep music live,
I'll post details of more gigs soon.

Hopefully catch up with you all in due course,
Stuart Kuhoon

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and I can't wait to get back out on the road to rock your local venue.

Here is what's happening in January incase some of you fancy catching a show.

Wedding Band Showcase..... or just a good night's music

Hello everyone,

Please spread the word to any couples who require a wedding band. My band, 'The Runaway Boys', are a superb three piece covers band from South Lanarkshire.

We're holding a free showcase evening to advertise our services.

Here are the details-

Wednesday 1st September
8pm
John Carrigan's Eating House and Function Room.
Strathaven Road, Hamilton

Please come along and support us. We're trying to show people that you don't always need to go to a city to find a great wedding band. Hopefully see you all there, for the enjoyment of the music if nothing else.

Thank you,

A Great Summer

Hello folks,

My apologies for the late update of things musical.

I've had a wonderful summer. To everyone at gigs all over Scotland, thank you for your hospitality.

A couple of highlights (by the way it's incredibly difficult to pick out moments that have been better than others)-
RNLI lifeboat week- great crack, great tunes and great people.
The Grand Ole Opry- You guys have the finest stage I've ever played on, and there's been a lot. PS, Roy and Chick, it was great to see you boys there. Can't wait to get back to the Burns Club.

So, I'll update gig listings asap, but for now,
Kindest regards to everyone.

A good rockin' May weekend.

Hello guys,

Too many thank you's to give out but I'll try, Ian, John and all the gang at the Jockey, once again we had a ball. What a fun night you gave me. Had a ball guys and can't wait to see you all again soon.

Del and Angela, you're wedding was really lovely guys, nice romanctic setting and I'm honoured you chose my services for your big day.

The Robert Burns folks, John, Chick, Roy, Euan, everybody, the night was lovely. Great seeing folks enjoy themselves. Thanks a million for asking me to perform. I love the club and the banter.

To the oceana and the Murray, deary me do you rock hard and fast. Ha. I love it! x
Everybody in the oceana is an absolute diamond.

Seriously though to everyone, the reason I pick up the guitar and hit the road is you guys. Without wonderful audiences like you, Scottish showbusiness would not be the same.

I thoroughly look forward to catching up with everybody again soon.

Keep music live and always shake a tail feather.

Hope everybody's well.
Stuart Kuhoon

P.S I'm still planning on organising a wedding band showcase soon. Keep checking the hamilton advertiser or my site for details. Free entry, good beer and 3 great acts on the night. Will be good fun.

News from Portpatrick

Hello everybody!

Been a while since I touched base. This news post is quite simply to say thank you to everyone at Portpatrick Lifeboat Week. The atmosphere all week has been fantastic and anyone reading this who wants to experience true Scottish hospitality, head to the Port.

Also, a huge thank you must go to Stewart Coul. He organised the Cabaret dinner which was marvellous. I managed to jam with John Beattie of Scottish rugby fame. To all the speakers that night, Jimmy Nicholl, Buller Reid and 'ma faither', you were fantastic guys.

The mini album is now complete folks and will be for sale at future gigs. Any record companies out there who could produce it better, please let me know!

So very soon, I'm going to outline my updated gigging schedule for any visitors to the site. Please pop along to a show and join in the fun.

So, to the Portpatrick residents and in particular Robert Erskine, head Cox'n of the lifeboat, thanks for making my trip down there so memorable.

Rock and roll.

New song recorded

Hi folks,

First of all allow me to say thank you to the audiences, both on Friday at 'Jenni's Fundraiser' and on Saturday at the Hollandbush Cup.

I had a really good time playing for you over the weekend. Feel free to get in touch at any time if you were at either night and think you may require my services.

Secondly, this is just a post to say I have recorded another song called 'The Sun Goes Down on Portpatrick'. This song will be a great addition to the mini album I'm releasing in the Summer. Hopefully the CD will sell well in Portpatrick at my gigs throughout the annual Lifeboat week.

If you're free the first week in August, pop down to Portpatrick and enjoy the festivities. I'm playing a fundraising event on Sunday 2nd August, and I'm also playing the Crown Bar on Tuesday 4th August. The gig in the Crown is totally free. However, if you wish to come to the fundraising event, you'll need to get in touch with Robert Erskine at the Portpatrick Lifeboat office for tickets. Both nights will hopefully be good fun and it's all for a great cause.

Well again, thanks to the audiences this weekend for your wonderful hospitality. Will be in touch soon with any updates about my record production etc.
P.S Web designer is in the process of organising website updates with me. Will hopefully be up and running soon.

Kindest regards to everyone,

A very overdue update on various things.

Hello folks,

Please accept my apologies for this incredibly overdue update on what has been going on in the world of Stuart Colquhoun.

I've been trying to get a hold of my web designer to update various things on the site, however, it seems things are going really well for his band and he has put web design on the back burner for a wee while to focus on music.

As I can't get the site updated I'm going to write a blog entry here for those of you who are expressing interest in what's going on.

I'm still touring, playing and trying to get gigs relentlessly. I am performing with a new band this Sunday, 19th April at the Shieldhill Castle Hotel, Biggar. This gig is part of a Wedding Fayre that is going on at the hotel.

Any potential wedding clients out there, why not pop down to see if you like what you hear?

As for my original material I am writing and recording all the time. Hopefully I will be able to get a proper album produced and for sale sooner rather than later.

Thanks a million to any visitors who touch base regularly enough to read this message. I will post another blog soon to inform everbody of the places I'm playing. Here are some to get you started though-

Friday 24th April- Horse and Jockey Bar, Lanark, 9pm
Sunday 26th April- Oceana Bar- Edinburgh- 5pm

Will be in touch soon with other gigs, I promise!

Hopefully see some of you on Sunday, Shieldhill Castle Hotel, Biggar. Midday.

PS. I now have much better recording equipment so if anyone wants a demo that sounds better than the current ones online, drop me an email and I will pop it out to you free of charge.

Thanks for reading my post.

Great to have you showing an interest in my music career.

Very lucky to be getting lots of work from my agent so that's always great to mention. It hopefully means I'll be in a town near you one way or another fairly soon.

Been really busy with other work besides music these days folks, that's why the album isn't ready yet. I promise it'll be up and running as soon as I can get proper time dedicated to it.

Just wanted to post a message and encourage any visitors to stay in touch and thank anyone who sees me at gigs for kind messages and votes of thanks.

I'm really sorry I've not posted any information for a while but I have been very busy with my college course.
I hope you are all well and, as usual, a big thank you to everyone I meet at gigs who give me great feedback and support.

Anyway, still working away on my first album. It will be ready by the summer, I promise.
Really looking forward to this weekend, back in Bar Seventeen through in Dedridge.
Come along for the most rockin and rollin show in West Lothian!

The web designer will have the gig page updated soon but until then, here is a wee make-shift gig page created by yours truly.

2008- hitting the ground running

Hello folks,

Just a wee post here to fill you in with the latest developments in the world of Stuart Colquhoun.

First of all, happy new year to one and all! I hope you all had a lovely festive time and are managing to settle back into the new year grind.

Various things are going to be happening soon in regards to the site. I'll be getting in touch with the web designer to update the audio and the gig pages.

I have managed to secure bookings with some of my regular venues from last year. Many thanks to the venues and everyone responsible for my gigs. I can't wait to come and play in 2008. These details will be on the gig page very soon.

Also, 2008 marks the start of my first album production. I'll keep you posted with all the latest developments etc. The album will be all original songs and will be for sale on the site and at gigs.

I hope everything is well with you guys out there and as usual, any requests or help you need in the world of entertainment please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Regards,
Stuart Colquhoun

Fantastic people and great gigs

Hello folks,

Just a quick message to say hello and thank you to everyone at the Lea Rig, Strathduie and Pop Inn.

This weekend has been non stop fun and it's all down to you guys.So to everyone- the public, the staff and the managers, thanks for showing me great hospitality and I'm thoroughly looking forward to playing for you again in the future.

Also guys, please keep checking inside the venues for posters regarding when I'll be back playing in your local again. I'll try to keep the gigging page updated as regularly as I can but at times it's hard to get in touch with the Web Designer.

However, for the lady that asked when I'm next in the Lea Rig, it's on Saturday 2nd February.

Thanks again, keep rock and roll alive.

A great night at Bar Seventeen- 23rd Nov 07

Hi Ladies and Gents,

If you've been kind enough to look at my web-site after your night out in Bar Seventeen, then please let me say thank you again for showing me great hospitality.

I always love coming through there and I hope me version of Hotel California was up to the ladies standard! ha ha.

Seriously though, it was great seeing you all and hopefully you can make it on Fri 21st December for a Christams Swaree.

All the best folks, and remember, if you need an entertainer you know where to come.

All the best Bar Seventeen.

Christmas time is nearly upon us!!

Hello folks,

Just a wee message to touch base and let you know what's been happening recently.

If any of you are free tommorrow night, why not pop along to 'Club Clinic' in Glasgow.

It's on John Street, in the Italian Centre of the City Centre. I'm going to be performing twenty minutes worth of my own material, as well as a couple of covers that will hopefully be crowd pleasers.

My performance is part of a Singer/ Songwriter competition that has some truly great prises up for grabs. It's also another great opportunity for potential record label interest.

So if any of you out there are free, you should come along, it'll be good fun and there is a special drinks promo running for the occasion.

Also, I must say thank you to the customers of The Lea Rig and Strathduie Bar for being so welcoming to me over the weekend.

Both gigs were great fun and I'm thoroughly looking forward to playing for you guys again in the future.

All the best in the run up to Christmas folks.

A big apology for Robert Burns Club and The Oceana Bar

Hi folks,

I've been feeling absolutely terrible for the past two days, which unfortunately means I have had to cancel two gigs.

Anybody who knows me will know that I hate to cancel gigs and I am very very sorry to both venues that were expecting me.

The Robert Burns Club and The Oceana bar are both great gigs and I'm really sorry folks but I just haven't been up to it.

I promise I'll make it up to the venues and the customers in the future.

Hope all is well,

Stuart Colquhoun x x

Just a quick hello before a busy weekend.

Hi guys, just a message to say a big thank you to the members of the In-Off snooker club in Renfrew, you made me feel very welcome on Saturday and I'll hopefully see you in the future.

Also guys, just a note to anyone who is thinking of posting a comment on any of the blog entries I post, please don't write any stupid comments and swear words on the site. It is a nuisance and it only creates hassle for me and the web designer to get them deleted.

I realise that most visitors to my site will be nice, normal and decent folk, but one guy called 'zoolander' made some scathing comments about a post I made and I felt that I better send this message to him and any visitors to the site who feel like doing a bit of childish attention seeking.

I really appreciate your feedback and I'm always trying to improve the quality of my show, but please don't leave comments that need to be deleted. A lot of audiences don't like swearing and stupidity of the sort that 'zoolander' has displayed.

It might do 'zoolander' some good to stop trying to think he's Ben Stiller and grow up.

Anyway, sorry for sounding like and old bore...
