About Stuart
Stuart's background
Stuart comes from a small village in Lanarkshire in the heart of central Scotland. He has been performing since a very young age and simply loves being on stage.
Stuart believes that music is something to be shared and enjoyed no matter who you are or where you come from. He writes songs and performs them on a regular basis, he has a huge catalogue of cover versions to draw from and he comes from a very musical family who support everything he does.
Stuart's guitar playing draws on many different styles ranging from pop, rock, soul, jazz, country, rock-a-billy and western swing.
His playing credentials are very extensive and his knowledge of music is tremendous for a young man of his age.
Stuart the guitar player
Stuart has made it to the final stages of some very prestigious musical competitions over the years, mesmerising the judges and audiences alike.
He came second place in 'The Riffathon 2005', a guitar competition endorsed and judged by Brian May (Queen), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and Dan Hawkins (The Darkness).
For his exceptional performance in the Riffathon, Stuart was awarded a Gibson Les Paul guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop, Nashville Tennessee U.S.A. This guitar can regularly be seen played live at Stuart's shows.
Stuart was also runner up in 'The Guitar Hero UK 2004' (Singer/Songwriter category).
Both these experiences, among others, led to Stuart writing his own songs and starting his own business so other budding musicians could obtain the same pleasure from music that he has had. He runs a very small recording studio and is always working to improve the quality of his playing and the services he can offer to the public.
Stuart Colquhoun the Entertainer
Stuart runs a small company called, 'Stuart Colquhoun Entertainments'. Both he and his girlfriend work very hard to organise entertainment for pubs, clubs, functions and weddings.
Whatever your needs may be, Stuart will lead and organise an entertainment package to suit all needs. Whether you want his 'one-man show' or a duo, or four piece band, Stuart will front all of these projects and give you a night of entertainment you will never forget.
Stuart's musical repertoire ranges from Abba through to ZZ top, James Blunt through to Elvis, The Rolling Stones to Tom Jones and everything in between.
Whether you need a rock'n'roll night, laid back acoustic music or all out partying, Stuart is what your looking for.
Stuart the Singer/Songwriter
With a high level of musicality and a great thirst for playing live, Stuart has been able to create some very fresh, original songs. These are showcased at gigs regularly and CD's are always for sale. Just get in touch and Stuart will be more than happy to send you out an album for a very good price.
